HoTMetaL 2.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Welcome to SoftQuad HoTMetaL 2.0, an HTML editor.

HoTMetaL 2.0 for the Macintosh comes in two formats: the usual "68k"
format or the "PowerMacintosh" format. 

-- Make sure you have the right one: the  name of the file you downloaded 
("installer.68k.hqx" or "installer.ppc.hqx") will tell you which one you have.

This file is in a compressed format called "BinHex".

-- Uncompress it using "Stuffit Expander" (available as freeware from http://www.aladdinsys.com/) or any other program that performs BinHex 
4.0 decompression. 
     
This will create a file called "HoTMetaL 2.0 Installer". 

-- Double-click on the icon for "HoTMetaL 2.0 Installer".

This will extract the software and prompt you for the name of a
folder in which to save it.  

-- To run HoTMetaL, double click on the "HoTMetaL 2.0" icon in this folder.
